ViewAlps
The Alps, compared in one view.

Planning a week in the Alps means opening a dozen resort sites, each describing its own mountain in its own terms. None of them let you put two side by side.
The problem
Every ski area publishes its own numbers. One counts kilometres of piste, another counts lifts, a third leads with a photograph taken on the best morning of the season. The information is all there and almost none of it is comparable, so choosing where to go comes down to whichever site you happened to open first.
What it does
ViewAlps puts the areas on one map and describes them on the same terms: how high the skiing actually starts and finishes, what the terrain is made of, and what it takes to get up the mountain. You can hold two places next to each other before committing a week and a deposit to one of them.
How we think about it
The product only earns its place if it answers the question you arrived with. That means resisting the urge to become another destination magazine, and keeping the comparison honest even when a flattering number would look better on the page.
